I’m Felicia Sherrod, a Fractional Chief Marketing Officer and marketing strategist with over a decade of experience helping growth-stage businesses, nonprofits, and public agencies build strategy that actually scales—strategy that drives revenue, connection, and clarity.
My journey started in the arts—creating programs for small theatre productions in Chicago. That creative foundation eventually led me to a career in marketing that spans more than 15 years, from retail activations and government campaigns to nonprofit fundraising and brand development.
After earning my B.S. in Advertising from The Art Institutes International Minnesota in 2012, I launched a creative career that blended strategy and storytelling across sectors. I built and led Art Peace Soul Gallery & Studio, my own retail-based art space in Saint Paul where I served as Creative Director and Chief Marketing Officer. I’ve since served in marketing leadership roles at organizations like Summit Academy OIC, American Indian OIC, and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, where I directed statewide campaigns like JoinUsMN to attract workforce talent and business investment to Minnesota.
Following a major layoff in 2024, I did what marketers are trained to do—pivot with intention. I stepped out from behind the brands I built and launched my own: Felicia the CMO. Through this brand, I support business owners, nonprofit executives, and internal marketing teams by offering fractional CMO services, brand strategy, team coaching, and campaign execution—without the fluff.
Whether I’m helping a nonprofit increase donations or building an e-commerce funnel for a retail brand, my focus is always the same:
