About Felicia Sherrod

Felicia Sherrod is a marketing executive, founder, and systems builder whose career has consistently operated at the intersection of creativity, structure, and growth. Her path into executive marketing was not linear — it was layered. Felicia began her professional career in public education, where she developed curriculum, led classrooms, and learned firsthand how systems either empower people or limit them.

During this time, she was simultaneously taking on marketing contracts, studying advertising, and building her creative practice as an exhibiting artist. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Advertising from The Art Institutes International Minnesota (2012), grounding her creative instincts in formal strategic training.

Building From the Ground Up

In 2017, Felicia founded Art Peace Soul Gallery & Studio, a community-centered art gallery and retail space that supported over 30 emerging artists. She curated exhibitions, developed brand positioning for artists, built operational systems, managed vendor relationships, and drove sales strategy — all while working full-time in program leadership roles to sustain and scale the business.

Her work led to partnerships with Rondo Community Land Trust and the Mall of America’s Community Commons initiative, where the gallery was selected to participate during the economic recovery period of 2020. The business was featured on Fox 9 and achieved regional visibility during a time of extraordinary social and economic disruption.

Operating a physical retail space seven days a week while managing full-time leadership roles sharpened Felicia’s ability to build structure under pressure — a skill that defines her executive approach today.

Executive Marketing Leadership

Over the past decade, Felicia has led marketing strategy across nonprofit, government, workforce development, retail, and service-based industries.

Her leadership roles have included:

  • Marketing & Recruitment Specialist at American Indian OIC

  • Marketing Communications Director at Summit Academy OIC

  • Digital Marketing Manager at Customer Contact Services

  • Marketing Director at Tierra Encantada

  • Marketing Director within the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED)

At DEED, Felicia helped lead the Join Us MN initiative — a statewide campaign positioning Minnesota as a top-tier destination for business expansion, workforce strength, and economic growth. The campaign emphasized Minnesota’s 17 Fortune 500 companies, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, and technology sectors, contributing to the state’s broader talent and business attraction efforts.

Her public-sector experience refined her ability to manage complex stakeholder environments, align marketing with policy and economic objectives, and execute at scale.

Independent Strategy & Brand Development

Since 2021, Felicia has operated independently through Creative Holdings LLC, partnering with organizations ready for executive-level clarity.

Her work has included:

  • Leading brand and digital transformation for T.O.N.E. U.P.

Her approach is not campaign-first.

It is systems-first.

Philosophy

Felicia believes marketing is not noise.

  • It is structure.

  • It is alignment between story and operations.

  • It is clarity in how an organization communicates its value.

  • It is discipline in how growth is measured and sustained.

She works best with organizations ready to move beyond scattered tactics and into executive-level marketing leadership.
